    Quality job.

I'm not shooting anyone down at all, I have just had a few things pulled by contracts managers far less than it and had to redo the panels, you are correct they are not easy to get them straight especially when the lintle is off to start with
  2. scotsplasterer

    Quality job.

I take it there is a couple of other larger panels then for it to amount up to 8k either that or I'm seriously undercutting myself
  3. scotsplasterer

    pft g5

All down to money john, Graham doesn't have a big company now. Mik isn't there anymore as he was the one who ran the machine. We done that block by hand in the end, the health and safety was nuts with the double handrails having to stay in. We walked away after that, they can keep the site, to...

    Quality job.

What ! like a dog's back leg. How can squint beading be a bang on job, I don't mean the detail on the bead I mean the straightness of the thing
  5. scotsplasterer

    Quality job.

Nice finish, bead on top of window is bad and so Is the join between the beads on the dpc, a fussy customer would make you take them off and redo the panel. I would anyway.

  7. scotsplasterer

    135mm Cornice

Cut it roughly and get the joint rule out for the mitres, leave the awkward cuts for joiners. We're plasterers that's how cornices are done

    British Gypsum Universal One Coat

I can get a nice finish with one coat. How are doing it. You need to straighten it then sponge float to get the water up. Then polish it. Multi is pish, bf a lot better

    pft g5

Do I put the rota and stata together before I fit them to the machine guys. I'm going to put the green one on now. Half the speed of the one that's on. Gotta be worth a try
  14. scotsplasterer

    pft g5

Ah that sounds good. Does that stop the sausages every time I turn air off. Not that I do it much just at end of lifts and when the hoses get caught on scaffold
  15. scotsplasterer

    pft g5

Wish I had time to go through to falkirk, will finish it by hand and then give the squad a visit next week and spend a day or 2 helping them and learning the proper way it should be done, tell me pft Wales do you spray your bands and panels at the same time then dash the panels and then rub the...
  16. scotsplasterer

    pft g5

Haha I know I feel like a wimp the hoses are mega heavy I almost got pulled over the edge of the scaffold, the wind blows the render everywhere, even blootered the slates lol, it's not away it's onsite. How do you mean a lever mate a lever to stop the air flow I have one of them. I really...

    Alright guys - newbie.

Didn't know the ozzys done it like that, sounds wild, can't imagine that doing you any favours towards our way of doing it. Do they bang it on with a machine or trowel, seen them render before, strange way of doing it also. Good luck finding the work you want.

Wish I could agree mate, told the boss to take the machine away today I'm dead with it now, far too messy, ok on open panels but when it comes to blasting on 100m2 in a couple of hours then having to clean up for the rest of the day, **** that for a game of soldiers I'm back in the hawk and...

    k rend

Is it a scraped render or a thin coat acrylic. Or what mate
  31. scotsplasterer

    pft g5

Yes he did mate, he showed us the lot briefly, how to check the rota and stata too. Made us a lot more confident with the g5, mentioned something about a nozzle extension also which we could really do with as the double handrails are a real pest, would let me work from over them instead of...

Just had a service nearly 2 weeks ago, John walker was out this morning, we were not giving it enough water pressure we had it at 450 and he said 600 is better, stuffs going on a lot better now and got used to it pretty fast so not needing the green rota and stata that arrived today, be handy...

    pft g5

We were getting gear from the bottom ok, then connected up the wet hoses. I got up on the gun and the render came to the tip then the machine cut out loads of times. To be honest half the tools and cleaning stuff isn't with the machine, so I'm doubting it's been looked after, had to bring the...

    pft g5

Thanks for getting back to me. As soon as the air goes on the gear stops flowing and the nozzle spurts watery gear out then stops. We gathered it was a block. The sites filthy possibly some mud has gotten in. I have had no time to contact Colin as this site want us there everyday. We've...

It wasn't playing game today. Got John walker coming out tomorrow, just wasn't coming out of the nozzle for more than a second before cutting out. Airhole is clean even gave it a good poke with the file. Nightmare and a half. Any ideas fellas

    Poor workmanship in Mold

Sounds like he knew himself he left a bad job. You got any pictures of the work done. Thousands of dodgy tradesmen out and about unfortunately and it seems you had one do some work. Your student maybe had a simple job to do and yours maybe presented problems for an unexperienced plasterer...

    scotrend

Aye decent stuff, has plenty open time and spreads good.
  39. scotsplasterer

    pft g5

Yes mate it's the d-6 3 we have and I would say it could fill a swimming pool in an hour lol. We ain't allowed to move any hand rails and they are in double rows, the scaffold lifts are full of random rubbish boards and hopups, so space is tight mate, it's single hopups on the opposite side of...

Thanks ryan, which rota and stata do I need for basecoats, would have thought the machine would have came with the sufficient one. There is a spare one but it's the same type, Got John walker coming out at the end if next week to see us, could really do with getting the rest basecoated.

Thanks ever so much for the replies guys. I have used an mtec in 2000 but to be honest I wasn't paying the machine any attention as i was on the darby, it's really the machine. I'm aware plenty can go wrong. The g5 belongs to the company I'm working for at the moment. It's been getting...

Got one coming tomorrow morning. I wish I could tell them to f off, 2 kids to feed and a house to keep kinda makes me think twice about jacking another site. For sure nick I know that they will. Wouldn't mind so much if the reveals were to get dashed, floating sure rend at this time of year is a nightmare. Temps to rise for...

Never even went in today 3 degrees the now, boss is on the phone moaning, wants us in regardless of the temperature just so when it goes above 3 we can get a bit done, god knows how we are ment to hit 60 m2 panels like that for £8m2. Been off the sites for a year, works dried up so taken on...

    stonepack scratch render

Wouldn't bother with a base coat unless its in stuccanet or something mate. Better used a mono. Na rigsby I've used allot of scratch renders out there and this is the best so far. Possible it could be parex though cos I haven't used that brand.
  49. scotsplasterer

    stonepack scratch render

Yea they do polymer renders as well as aggregates. Im doing it in 2 passes 18mm then scraping back the next morning at 7 am, today was a killer it was lashing down with rain so only scraped and went home. Good gear though
