Ture lol
tbf i do work hard and honest i much prefer to work hard to earn rather than slack and feel line i didn’t do my best. Forgot to mention i have my own van i pay finance towards from my own pocket. And yes i am 27 your right it might sound young but feel like an old man these days
Providing all goes smoothly (no pun intended) i always break the a seat up in 20min intervals.
First on and flattened
second straight on and speedskim
20mins later close in
20 mins first trowel
20 mins second. Thats my happy medium for timing anyways
Had one of the old fitbit few years ago now the ones that were like a bracelet and a tint screen. Used to smash my daily steps talking like 50k in a day. Turns out when i were on the kango the vibration was making the watch count steps.
Picked up a 5l tub of this today my local supplier has stopped with blue grit. Was skeptical especially with it being almost double in price but my god it is so much better to spread than that blue s**t. I dont prefer to use pre grits but whenever i have to i am deffo going to use this again...
Whats everyones preference on using silicone thin coat toppings?? Going to render my house in a few months and planning ahead. I can currently get webersil tf at just under £50+Vat at the mo but not keen if its not as nice as others. My local hughs grey can supply weber, krend and jub with krend...
Ive noticed since lockdown ive needed to use a few splashes of water i never used to use water when finishing only water on trowel. Definitely its dragging more since lockdown. As for drying the recent sets ive been putting down last 2 weeks have been taking 3 hours to finish!!!!! Board finish...
Not only as mentioned above, also consider that for an air tight vapour barrier you cannot be having sockets buried in the insulation. This creates a huge gap where warm(er) air is entering and going behind the insulation, causing condensation. Same with spot lights. “Steve roofer” on youtube...
Its not ideal, and doubt he will give it another scratch. If its sound shouldn’t be an issue. What finish are you having? Id have concern if it was a float finish, not so much if it was pebble dash
Before I click on photos under threads like these I always say to myself ‘im sure its not that bad’. Thats bad. If you still want a complete smooth finish it’s unfortunately gonna need re rendering of some sorts. Some plasterers will apply silicone render on top on painted render like yours but...
Was it plasterboard? Sometimes when the plasterboard is damaged and the paper comes off or if there is a hole in the old plaster and wasn’t pva’d it dries crazy fast and the plaster cracks like that, to which point the plasterer has a f**k it and loads up the cracked area with fat. Least thats...
Was expecting to use krend tc 15 but builder turned up with this. Not used it before but good Stuff apparently. Opinions on jub products? Wont be Using it for a while just curious what to expect
I recently went with vanarama. About 2 months ago. A new vivaro van lwb was cheaper then the swb!! Contract hire so i pay 240 p/m With road tax. Based on 3 years and i save on MOT as its brand new. Give it back at the end and start again!
How long until after a base coat of hp12 can you apply the primer and tc15? The krend spec i have specifies minimum of 14 days!! Might have answerd my own questions but wondering if anyone has done sooner than that?
Bought the nela max plastic trowel last week after reading @Danny review online. always been a skeptic of the plastic trowels from what i heard but had no idea what to expect really. I wasn’t keen on bringing 3 trowels in to finish a set. what a surprise!!! Used my Marshalltown town right to...
Hi all, my bosses brother (a bloody sparky) has bought a house and is currently renovating. The old render has been hacked back to stone. He wants a mono finish. My boss is very traditional and only really uses s&c, iv used weber for my own work always on blockwork so don’t claim to be an...
Got a garage re-render coming up. Old dash hacked off back to red brick. Usually I use weber rendaid or sbr slurry and hit it while its tacky. Rendaid is out of stock in my area and sbr slurry is just a pain in the arse when your doing a 100 things at once. As far as throwing or stippling a scud...
When i was a apprentice i got on the tools quite fast and was on par with my boss (he was a rough c**t mind) he would let me do all the skimming, dot and dabbing and rendering. There was never a day in my apprenticeship i was just a labourer. I was on £60 a day back then which was great for a...
Got to talk to some new faces today and was interested with their approach on rendering with beads. Some of them even said that they only use plastic beads when using mono and use battings for anything else as its “lazy using beads”. Dunno if its only me but i always use plastic beads especially...
Isnt a big bullnose, a mesh angle bead would probably cover it but like i said if the angle isnt right the beads give you to much of an angle to skim to so the finish slopes up to the bead
I would of preferred to put a normal angle bead on but with it being splayed i find it a pain to shape the bead to fit over the curve, otherwise i find that the wings stick out to much cos there is to much of an angle or the the actual aris turns to like a fookin bell cast
Just been to see a job, one wall has 2 windows with splayed reveals. Was thinking smacking some stop beads on them but the corners are bullnose. if i fix them sound to the corner 3mm out and just dub out where the curve on the other side goes “in” the bead then skim as usual when its gone off...
has anyone ever used a stipple with sbr and leave it 24hrs for a key rather than hitting it while its tacky? Got a long garden wall from block thats been painted straight on to be scratched. Offered rendaid but customer wants sbr as they have a s**t load of cement and i happen to have a s**t...
I use the blue paddle often it can mix a 25kg+ bags no problem only if you use them with a powerful drill/mixer. The paddle opens up as it gets faster and mixes much easier/faster than generic paddles. Plus they dont collect old plaster as its flexible so snot just taps off when dry. Would...
I have an erbauer dab radio. Cracking kit. Have used my bosses makita for years but went with the erbauer one for myself as its cheaper, has DAB and bluetooth function, 2 year screwfix guarantee and the batteries needed are cheaper. Holds its own agaist the makita and others tbh. I didnt have...
