    thanks yes ive been reading up... and it seems theres no chance of it being 20mm. Ive had another look and the old screed is only about 35mm. So theres no chance of it being higher than this. Any thoughts#

    Hey up as the title says. basically im going to use 25mm celotex sheets which are foil backed. Then plasterboard and skim. So i was thinking of fixing 25mm deep laths onto the external wall and then putting/cutting the celotex between them and then screwing the plasterboards to the laths...

    as rock hard solid said you should never have a four way joint, the same as ceilings. stagger the joints however much over one full board it is. thing is Lucius instead of putting the cut at the top and then at the bottom of the next board, - its easier just to move the cut over half a board...
