quick question for a job. Using insulation boards in an upstairs bedroom with a laminate floor. Going to scribe the ends of the laminate away to match the depth of the boards/skirting. Do i need to leave a gap then between floor and board? or just cut them tight and let them rest on the sub...

Quick one- When i tape a ceiling i tend to cover all the joints with skim before i start the actual ceiling , dont mix a bucket for it , just 1st few scoops used to coat the scrim. Is this necessary? Reckon i do it as i was taught that with the old cotton scrim Maybe i could save 10 mins :)

Over the years I've found the actual plastering the easy part of the game , its the pricing and getting paid properly that's the hard bit! A thread with suggestions might help others who find themselves underpaid etc. In my experience its builders who don't pay so try to only work for builders...

42 year old plasterer , been out of the game full time for about 8 years and found this site when trying to get up to speed with with current prices etc. It appears not much has changed :) And it hasn't got any easier! Looks a great forum , so hello all
