PLASTERBOARD WASTE

Charge jobs for disposal, fill sling sacks then take to tip when enough full sacks to be bothered with. Was min £50 + whatever the weight dumped. Got to make it worth while.

I put all rubble, board offcuts etc in a lock up, at the back, aprox a third, have the area above framed for planks and tressles. Long story short is I can build up enough then get a skip for the day.... its solved the biggest headache for me and probably works out far cheaper in the long run.

Hate paying for skips... so many rules about what you can or can't put in them.

My DIY builds everything goes in the household bin... but by bit each week...

What’s everyone doing with plasterboard waste these days?

Ridiculous trying to get rid of it. Price of a skip for board is stupid. Dump is stupid. Etc etc

What’s the craic?
It is stated on our quotes that we do not remove waste from the site. We will supply a separate quote for a plasterboard skip or it's for the client to deal with.
Smaller jobs are similar, the client can choose to deal with the waste themselves or we'll supply a Rhino Bag at cost. No one has ever chosen to pay for the Rhino Bag and they prefer to deal with it themselves.

Not allowed to go to our nearest tip as its in a different county.
Most of our councils tips dont take plasterboard/ plaster, or any other trade waste.
You have to have a permit if you have a van that let's you go in12 times a year but only for domestic waste.
They charge for any DIY waste at £2.50 an item, an 8 ft fence post is classed as 2 items because of size
The one Home Wheelie bin we are allowed is only emptied fortnightly and left un emptied if there deemed to heavy and we have to pay for garden waste removal.
Then they wonder why fly tipping is on the increase!

they wonder why people fly tip....

Our council recycle centre has a lorry container for plasterboard which is free for everyone. When it is full it goes back to British Gypsum.
All our local recycling centres have plasterboard skips, but trade aren't allowed to use them, but our clients are.

I used to give that option....they just want it gone though in all honesty,,,its definately a big issue with the costs and regulations....its not at all surprising that people fly tip tbh !
