I have worked with a few spreads and a few left handed and I have not actually worked with a lefty that has produced a decent finish they all seem rough!

Is this just the ones I worked with or is it something others have noticed!

I also spoke to a spread the other day who is left handed and he was told when he was an apprentice that there is no such thing as a good left handed spread so he swapped hands and plasterers with his right hand.

I am not meaning to put a cat among the pigeons just wanted to see what else everybody thuinks

Danny ;D

i have worked with two in my time and the were two of the worst plasters i ever met but still the work all the time so f**k it

i dont see how people can say it though. its doing it exactly the same just the other way round. the trowels are the same. same stuff. same background. my mates left handed and hes decent aswell

i no mate, when i first started. every builder/chippy/spark etc noticed i was left handed and they all said it. maybe because theres lots of s**t plasterers about. and not many left handers. odds are alot of left handers will be s**t. pure ratio thing i reckon

i'm left handed and have 2 hernias!! and i'm rough as s**t and keep a big bundle of sand paper in the van and 5kgs of polly filla!!

Danny, did they tell you it only lasts for 10 years, approx.Mines now 13 years old, i reckon its come back, under all the fat, just cant see it now.

i'm a skinny forker - 6ft tall and 9stone! - have 2 malteser sized lumps sticking out just above my belly button. Doc reckons 2 months rest afterwards.... sounds like a good excuse to sloth to me!! :P

no he never said that it lasts 10 years!! You mean I have to endure all this pain again?

Oh the joy!!

Danny

the best spread i know is left handed but when he got on the trowel his boss wanted to do tops and bottoms and had him learning right handed so its stuck ....................his boss was 5'2 and he's 6'3 and the boss did tops ...hey ho its a strange old world we live in ::)

lol the only good thing is if one is a lefty and the other is a righty you can start on opposite ends
