    To Machine, or not to machine??do

    I've got a couple of whole house re skims coming up soon, all empty places. Is it worth investing in a machine eg ritmo or mtec100 etc.. I'm getting more of this sort of thing, just wondering how much time/effort it would save?? I also do mono work occasionally. Cheers chaps

    What's better?

    2 sets per day for me. I try to do an average size room say 14x14 including the lid in a day and a morning nowadays. Gone are the days of getting it done in a day for me. Just charge for 2 days and take my time instead of rushing and going home carrying my nuts in a barrow! :-)

    Derby vs rule

    I use darby on sand and cement render, the way u use it does get it flatter than when ive used a rule. Works for me every time on s and c. I never used it on plaster tho. Use speed skim on big hits when plastering now, I like how they flatten less hand and wrist strain as well :-))

    FOUND- an almost new s*p*r*lex, great condition apart from alittle plaster cacked in the handle, oh and a bit of a bent blade from falling from a van roof (possibly). If anyone knows who might have lost/discarded this poor defenceless s*p*r*lex, please contact battersea trowel and hawk home...

    thinking about it, in my profile picture, those walls were 36m2 each. did those on my own this time last year. hot and hard work, wouldnt fancy it now though as i have a damaged rotor cuff!!

    Been to price a job to at. Ground floor extension 6.5 X 3.6. Gonna sand and cement inside then finish. I noticed that in the middle of the 2 side walls vertical cracking pretty much floor to ceiling in the breeze blocks. The cracks haven't effected the external skin. I was thinking if I put...
