That's why I feel at a cross roads with the courses now and that a 6 week course makes people think they can plaster I get vibe on here just way a lot of regulars talk they been in game for ages learnt right way and to think some don't see plastering as a skill anymore is an insult to all the good plasterers

Wish I wud of got @GaMo to do it...or mayb not...wat u reckon gamo? Plastering still not a skill?

It's a skill, I never said it wasn't. All I said was plasterering and electronics have more to them (more to learn)

There's a lot of shitty trades men out there and the council seems to employ a lot of them around my way.

Ye agree there's alot of coursers on here like rossi warned me many months ago and there the most people who have got beef with me as I constantly slate them for these reasons and I don't think its rite in how it works..

U also said there was more skill in plumbing n electrics and said plastering was as easy as painting and wasn't hard etc

My gaffa took on a domestic lad to dab and skim a large 2 bed flat.....2 weeks later he was still in there.

The most shocking work ive seen in ages.
Il go back too domestics when my kids have left home and ive got lazy.

Seen loads of domestics on site.
I feel for them ...they look lost.

I've never worked with electrics or plumbing at a professional level so I can't really say what takes more skill. They take more knowledge though, as a plumber (for example) you had to go to somebodies house, diagnose the problem and then fix it. If you make a mistake you could cause serious damage (and in the case of electronics) injury.

Difference is it can all be taught out of a book which means you can google the answer simple :) you can come on here and find out how to do anything but putting it into practice is completely different.

That's spot on and wonder of Internet and YouTube that everyone can turn their hand to plastering can't teach what a lot on here can do its learnt over time

I feel for kitchy, s**t when stuff like this happens to someone though your lucky the client was happy with it. A bad job like that can ruin someone's name.

I'll admit, I'm not a time served plasterer like some on here but I can leave a good job. I also do a few other trades but by fcuk, I would never have the neck to take money for leaving a job like that. If I fcuked up like this, I'd be in the next day with PVA grit and do a whole reskim. That's one thing about me, I understand the customer/client always comes first and if they ain't happy, I'll fix it to what they want because at the end of the day, they are paying.

Still can't believe someone had the cheek to leave that like that for decent money.

Kitchy, me and another plasterer(he's over 30 years experience) are seriously thinking of hitting the uk soon enough. Well come do work for you for 150 a day and well do it on pay after each job. If your not happy with our work, post it on here and tell us to GTF.

Going to see how it pams out this spring/summer and if its not productive enough, I'm off to the UK for some real money. Sterling, the stuff is like gold on this island lol.

Main reason for it thou, I've a 15yr old daughter and wanting to fund her college/uni so need to work my ballix of these next few years. Don't want her growing up like I did or turn out like the girls I know.

15yr old, 10yr old, 9yr old(irish twins) and a 1&1/2 yr old. I've some saving to get done :(

I know your not joking to. My mother was in hospital and the nurse/doctor wasn't up to scratch with what was wrong her and she actually googled it. Mindblowing!

When they cant find a result they ask
...."are you depressed ?"

Fuuuckung lot of its gone too shhit !!!!!

This is now how doctors work !!
I know on the rare occasions I go to the doctors he has always got NHS direct up and gone from there. That's the difference between a craft and a trade a trade can be learnt out of a book and can be double checked against the book a bit like flat pack, if you follow the instructions you can't go wrong.
