How are the cheapys fending?

I’m just commenting about the mortgage holiday, he may be able to afford to carry on paying it

Yes Cos he’s going to work still lol whilst his Mrs is self isolation for 12 weeks. Anyone with any moral fibre wouldn’t got to work and risk it with a pregnant Mrs at home, let alone ask a plasterer round .

Perhaps he doesn't like her? I mean now would be the time to dispose of unwanted relatives.

Pillow over the face a couple of months ago and it'd be full NCIS.

Do it now and all you'd get is "Covid mate. We'll send you a text once she's cremated."

I just think it’s hard to judge people without knowing there circumstances
1 example here,me..car,child maintenance,kitchen re-pay that's £1200 a month there..that's not added food,council tax,van,insurances,gas,electric and water,pension I contribute to,holiday that I bought in january at £400 a month until July meant to be going august:frenetico:that's just touching the sides.im not even working but different circumstances 4 every1..bloody £800 a month

I haven't taken a mortgage holiday either as it will cost the amount you defer as it's added to to the total owed. Nothing is for free.

I don’t know what part of the country u are in? But I’m in london and mortgages here , even cheaper properties, people are borrowing 350k just for a one bed flat, that’s a minimum, I think the bs will want more than 11£ back per month on that

I’m south coast mate live near Portsmouth

It's an important point. Even at £11 a month for 10 years they'll have an additional £1,320 off you. So you'll basically have a loan of 3 x say £800 = £2,400 on which you'll pay £1,320 in interest = £3,720 Sounds like a sh1t deal to me.

That's why people saying it will do huge damage to the economy long term are missing the trick. It will have a long term effect on individual's finances because they and businesses will be paying the bill. The main help for businesses are loans which have to be paid by the business. Then there are the tax increases which will come.

If you can possibly manage it, get through this without taking on any additional debt. Especially debt which accrues interest.

The interest is compounding
