Sad c**t

Use to soak my trowels over night all the time... keeps them pretty good but every now and again Bi carb is good
 
Bicarb does speed up the cleaning process

I've got to disagree with that mate. IMHO a clean trowel, back and face of the blade makes a lot of difference in how they work.

I always say (and do) this. Clean at least 10mm in from the edge (on the back of the blade) - then no drag or crud, just trowels lovely.

Face of the trowel, try and keep it clear as a whistle the whole time.
