That's what my steels look like when clean minus the new 11 inch, try my best to keep on top of them

Thanks I’m gonna get some for reminisce in some of my mixing buckets, tbh I jet wash them clean but maybe some of this will remove any stubben areas

I’ve tried some in mixing bucket but not checked it yet. It’s pretty grotty jet wash just bounces off it

I did try that, left everything in, but didn't see any difference? the only thing that worked for me was the pressure washer on the kit (I'm now cleaning after each job), but my mixer looks pretty bad :llorando:

Just leave in a water butt for a coupleof days come out like new

Malt vinegar from lidl, about 40p per bottle works well. My trowel was caked in scrim adhesive, ocr, dash receiver the lot and it's spotless now after a weekend in vinegar. Water alone wouldn't touch it.

Water alone is okay if you just have plaster on your trowel. If you've got polymer render on there you can forget it I left mine in water for 3 days before and the cement on it was still rock hard. Acidity in the vinegar breaks the cements down without damaging the trowel.

“When else can I do it”

Cleaning the tools lol. I got this tip on here, using bicarbonate of soda. Works well. Got a 10kg tub for £15 delivered.

If anyone didn’t know, it’s a great way to get the tools clean. Mix with water, generously, leave tools to soak. Will get some after pics tomorrow morning
