Guys im looking for some advice,
I have removed some crumbling render today from a retaining wall and the block work behind is very damp and when we render it these damp patches are more than likely to come through.
An old lad i used to work with has said, pin some dpc to the block work, eml with plastic nailable plugs and silicone around the plug top annd render with a sand cement render and then weber monocouche onto the top of the sand and cement coat.

Have you any tips on this?

I cannot dig out behind and dpc because its all tarmac'd

cheers

Either apply a cementious tanking slurry as per manufacturers spec then render........Or cavity drain mesh membrain then render..........Or Aqua panel on metal frame then render???? Not sure on the last one others will know better

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. i see your problem you need 4.....................:RpS_thumbup:

Would depend on what level of lateral water pressure you have on that retaining wall if that make sense . If you've got 100000m3 with a high water table where the surface area is wet clay pushing onto a 10m2 wall , you're in trouble. If you've got 10m3 of wet clay on a 100m2 wall it wouldn't be as bad . It's all relative Marra
