Thats what gets me . The properties problaby a 3rd of the price and rent is obviously cheaper up north. I bet the wages arent that different.
But all we ever hear is how good it is down south

It's good other than the cost to live here...complete joke.

I spent a year living oop north and commutting back to London at the weekends. People I was working with could'nt understand how we could afford to live down south with the cost of property etc. What they couldn't see was that they spent a hell of a lot more on beer, social and food, whereas down south only the young with no mortgage could go out and "do the eight" (pints) everyweekend plus meals out and takeaways.
Even though their wages were less they had a better standard of living. But..for many wages were a lot less and even having a job was a big deal, and bosses/managers were more aggressive.

This is true having lived up North myself in the fantastic city of Liverpool everybody lives for the weekend and 5 pints and a line after work everyday.

Get the tan on the Friday, Hair done Saturday morning, New designer outfit in the afternoon...etc etc...

No chance down here all our money goes on the bills...sad state of affair.

True, but that's not my choice of lifestyle, never has been, which is why I turned down the permanent job there.
Pricing a job for a couple now from Liverpool - down south 17 years, went back last year and have come back south after 12mnth, even though they'll both work now and he'll have to go back on the sites.

Never heard such nonsense.
Some areas of North Yorkshire are up there with the most expensive in the uk, As regards house prices, aswell as areas of Cheshire, etc. That lifestyle might be apt if your 25. Daft sweeping statements.

Yes it is mainly the young-uns but there quite a few others. Somebody I know quite well lives in Beverley, v.expensive real estate, and yes, that is his lifestyle. I drink halves when I go out with him, leave the gear alone and still cannot keep up.

I haven’t touched any drugs for 20 years and I don’t drink, I guess I’m the exception to the rule, rather than the rule.

You're the sensible one, think it's lot more common to be like that in the south.
Ha I think it says more about the company you keep,
I don’t know any one who still shoves Shite up there noses, and I socialise with a wide group of people, but I’m a married 40 year old family man. can’t see it as a north/south thing but there you go.

Yes maybe, but i know a lot from poor working class areas, Bradford, keighley (near where I grew up) leeds centre etc. All opinion isn’t it, just not my experience I guess.

It's true, I have a very wide social circle, and certain parts of it have done drugs all their lives. It's no respecter of geography, social class or type either. Zombie is right, there is a huge variation.
I was in Dewsbury last year, desperately poor, down on the bones of its arse place, only drinkers and druggies out at night, but surrounded by some very nice areas and very expensive places. Their lifestyle was as good and probably better than in the south. It did seem to me though, that they were also able to afford and did like to drink more.

Do you hit the beds in Yorkshire?

Nath £200 is cheap. Unless maybe you live at home in Skegness or somewhere like that?

£250 is the minimum these days and most lads are earning £300 - £500 a day on price even more if rendering.

If you are going to put prices on a public forum...whatever comes into your head maybe double it? and do us all a favour because some of us have businesses to run, mortgages, family with wife at home etc etc
Defo not earning that kind of money 5 days a week

Ye the drug problem in this country is almost ignored in the media and yes is widespread. Bizzare we are stopping the world for covid but the drug problem dosent get a mention. Maybe its part of the plan to have a drugged population.

Maybe mate everyone seems to be pushing an agenda these days and so much misinformation to me it just looks like a big mess...I'm just navigating through it with my hawk and trowel.

Very true that there is bigger problems with drugs, alcohol, smoking in this country that kills far more people but they don't want to stop that because it's a way of culling the population behind closed doors!

Half million people die uk a year. I hope they will update us every day of deaths after this. Then people will start to respect the world better. This covid nothing. Polio 1955 killed 12 thousand little children that hadn't started ther life!!
