Evening all.
I’m a general builder and qualified electrician.
I have been plastering for a number of years and have always looked at spray machines but have never seen one in action. i don’t mind spending the money on one but what I’d like to know is, is it the right thing for me.

what id like to know is can I only use it on fresh plasterboard? Or can I apply to general walls that need skimming.
and just abit of general knowledge to be honest.

I’m expecting some abuse as I’m a sparky/builder so fire away. But if you could give me some useful tip thought along the way that would be great

many thanks

You should have casually dropped in about how passionate you are about trimming your tails and tucking in the back boxes

The swing look's good but as your spark/builder I think it's a draft idea there's lads on here banging loads of plasterer on the walls every day and thay don't see the call for them,

The reason is iv taken a large job on in wales and the hole property needs plastering and there is over 30 rooms. The bedroom is 48m2 and ceiling height is 3.6m

there is only 2 of us im 25 and my dad is 60 so the bigger rooms about kill him off now.
So my plan was he can point and shoot and I will do the running around.
Iv bin looking at the graco mark v I don’t know if this is the right machine but like I say completely new to it.

Weve used the graco v loads of times .great machine . Good system airless done correctly

Have you got any videos of it working on anything other than board or pictures in stages
I was looking through my phone for you . Must be on my old Samsung that's broke . I put some pictures on here a few years ago of it being used on an over skim job and a spiral staircase . There good over all backgrounds we did an 80 -100 mtr lid with it 4 mtr high off a scaffolding no problem at all

Hi buddy

my colleague Clive (@quinns) will be in to help soon - he is the Knauf Finishing Specialist and can help with machines, demos and training for Knauf Airless products

as Danny has already advised, it can be used onto virgin board and putty much any other walling surface

what do you mainly do at the moment?

good luck
Richard
Knauf

We are old school multi finish a trowel & a speedskim. So spraying is like space age so like I say any info pictures would be great. I’m in West Midlands so even seeing some one use a sprayer would be great

I used it and pretty impressed tbh but you’ll have to get act together on board work if you use it , get that right and it might be good for you i think mate

What do you mean bud be bang on with joints etc ?
Everything has to be bang on. It's sprayed 1mm thick. If the preps spot on you can get a room done in hours though with next to no effort. You can even go over woodchip with it I was told by the technical expert

Yeah I’m big believer in get your ground work right and everything else will fall into place.
Do you have to sand much iv herd people saying you do.

Easterflow080708, sounds like Knauf Airless Plaster is the solution you need. Much less stressful on the body, upto 3 mtrs from floor level, better productivity, no waste and no mixing. We work with a training provider based in Swansera if you are interested in getting involved or just seeing the application and ease of finishing. Contact details on my profile page.
