Hello, I'll keep it brief. I'm new to the forum. Just done some googling and came across it.

I am not a plasterer....yet! Spent the past 25 years in telecoms working for others and right now there is a potential change later in the year.
Right now I'm doing a little bit of research into a career change and Plastering seems to be appealing to me.
Can work on your own, not shy of long hours especially if working for myself. Its also a trade in demand and you can be artistic at times. This in theory seems great. I dont doubt there will be some pitfalls but I am keeping my options open.

Would love to know of any plasterers, perhaps on a small job in the Surrey / croydon area who would'nt mind me tagging along for a day / half day for free. All in an effort to give me an insight into the possibilities. I make great tea!!! Thanks for reading.

Good luck on day one if anyone is local and will have you tag along.youll soon find it isn't an easy going career choice but as my dad used to say how do you know you won't like something without trying it. My only reply to a statement like that nowadays is

I know I won't like sucking cock without giving it ago

Welcome along and tip is spend more money and re-train as a spark or gas safe, easier on the body and easier money
