It turns in to money when there are millions of views and thousands of comments. That video has 224 views and probably 100 are from this site.

That's what I'm saying, why is he going over it with a sponge over a 2nd coat. As for wetting it like that, I've never seen this done either. We flick of a wet brush is all I've ever needed or sometimes when it's dried to quick, wee rub with the sponge float but that doesn't happen to often.

I see he hasn't had the balls to come on :endesacuerdo:. I'm wondering has he even been plastering that long because with wee noodle arms like his, I can't see it. Most plasterers I know have tighter and bigger arms than what he's throwing about.
 
Come on fellas make some videos ur selves I'm interested to see everyone's different methods we can all sit about giving this Welshmen s**t but can anyone do better or are u all hot air :bananas:

I not slating him he obviously enjoys doing the videos it's just not normal to garden spray a bag mix in a hallway like that ..find it really strange to see ,everyone loves a good old debate about trowels etc but this garden spraying and sponging thing is kind of upsetting to see.

I'm not a pro like u guys I'm a very enthusiastic amature so I can't say much really buy I like to see how everyone works I know a couple of plasters and the all work different one only uses a MT Trowel start to finish I know one guys who uses a plaziflex and NeLa s*p*r*lex and one guy uses a speed skim and NeLa s*p*r*lex and but I use a refina plastercraft to lay ome and a plaziflex and refina super flex own a couple of eze spats to so like I said I'd love to see all you guys methods

An uncle of mine, top plasterer and has only used 2 MT trowels for as bad as I can remember. One for S&C and other for skimming. Going to buy him speed skim when he returns from NZ in few weeks seeing as he's getting on a bit lol

Thing is Kyle what ever trowel is used it just gets flattened 3 or 4 times and it's done..the spraying and rubbing a render sponge on is just pure looney, even on the back of the bags of gear it says what to do.
Simple
 
I've never used a sponge tbh I try to use as little water as possible when trowel up but the biggest area I've ever done was about 10 sqm which is a fraction of what u guys do per set

If you ever do use a sponge, make sure to clean it out properly because the skim will set in small balls and it's a nightmare to get them all out. Once you've done this, it can only be used for sponging dry is skim and not your render because of the set balls. Best just to buy a new one

Not really sure people will be watching for plastering tips if this is a comedy sketch the guys a genious :) most plasterers fancy themselves as comedians this is something out of Harry Enfield school :)

what do you mean different methods ? . there is only one way to do it and that is with a steel trowel from star to finish. stop fooking around with it and do it properly .

Think you may be on to something, he is indeed built like the side of a fiver note and probably struggles plastering using traditional tried and tested methods so he's trying to invent his own methods by pump spraying water over walls, sponging it then rubbing it with plastic trowels. Crack on with it skinny arse but don't be telling people it's the best method.
 
Not everybody . But why are there some lads getting worked up about this lads videos ? And saying there is only 1 way of doing it and that's with a steel trowel......?
Did any lads that were criticising him about sponging up ever try this way... And if not how do you no it's not a better way...

But by all means if you gain something from him and his vids past astonishment and mild amusement then fill yer boots but don't be at all surprised others don't have the same views.
