Ok mate i know it's a lot of weight, builder says do it, so was seeing if that would be your way around it. The wall only 3.5 x 2.4.

Sorry mate the builder has ordered rendaid for base coat then top coat. When I've looked at the job I have noticed one wall runs out a lot, so instead of using base coat to fill out the deep places, I was going to knock up s&c (not bagged ocr) instead. Then once I filled the deep places out go...

@keithuk That's why I said fill the deep parts of the wall with s&c then rendaid then top coat. Rendaid wouldn't be able to be build up to 30-40mm, whereas s&c can be over a few passes. Obviously not an whole wall but only to straighten then wall out.

Have a wall to do which runs quite abit out. 40mm in some places and 25mm in other places. Have to base before top coat, but because I need to bring some areas out I was wondering would it be best to sand and cement the thick parts because of the depth. And then rendaid the lot once straighten...

hello forum, What size mm scrapper Do you think works best for monocouche for same day scrape and next day scrape. Thanks Lost my lovely worn in one and can't remember what size tooth it was.

So the artex is going to get disturbed with an hammer put through it think it's going to be overboard frOm now on. Plus don't mind abit of boarding gives you time off the trowel.

And what are the benefits. Apart from no artex !

Ok over boarding is fine but how do you go about finding the joist without making a couple of holes in the ceiling. I know they can be 400/600 apart but I overboardes ceiling the other week where it was 720. Yea I think I'll stick to overboarding or bonding it out .

I've always scrapped it but when spoke to him today I thought I'll ask fellow spreads. So scraping high points off with a mask is still ok. Is the amount in the asbestos killiable or just a lot of s**t.

Well I seemed to get scuff I found you had to treat it like glass. Put the little sleeves back on every day. Also if you don't use a plastic hawk and scrape fat on the hawk it ruffs it up aswel. Just like to stick with the one trowel

Had the Refina plastic trowels. I think they are crap you go up the bead leaves a nick in your trowel. Hasn't got enough meat to it. I hate all this changing the trowels to finish etc. if you put enough on by time you get back on it all its finishing nice anyway. Mt ftw for me at moment. Yet...

Hello what additives do you lot use in s&c. do you use separate additives or an combined one. What do you think works for you lot. Waterproofer in base and top or just top etc. just keen to know what other methods other people use. Cheers

Scud it what you mean. I normally brush it on. Do I apply these methods on new brickwork aswel. I'm Used to rendering on new blockwork on site so domestic new to me. Just want to make sure it's correct

Hello what are your general rules that you apply when rendering s&c on old brickwork.( old s&c hacked off and back to original brickwork, which is old and dusty) what route is best. Know a few options but just want to see what you guys do. E.g slurry coat, renaid etc thanks
