What methods do you lot use to hardwall reveals. Floating them all at once. I use my trowel and finger to get margin but wondering if anyone's got a better way as sometimes tricky..

the way that i was taught. place the square on the reveal, pencil mark, set up a gauge stick, so that the head and the legs all have the same margin. then rule in the upright position in case the frame is bowed.
they would not like the moving finger method!

Never made a gauge stick explain more in detail ??

a gauge stick, a piece of wood about 12 inches long 3 inches wide 1 inch thick. you just drive a nail into the end of the gauge stick in the position where you made the square pencil mark. a nail will stay in the same position where as a finger will move.

Ok thanks still can't picture it. So might try the sqaure or just use my finger what I'm used to

Just use the mk 1 eyeball and a bit of skill..........some right homo's on here using a square etc
completely agree on this ,99% of windows are out of square and thrown in , you have to adapt to situations that arise and make things look equal rather than making a ten bag wall a forty bag wall just because you want equal reveals !

10 mm stop bead up to the frame all the around with same margin then square a corner bead of the frame inline with the stop bead . Fill in between spot on . That's how I've always done them

Should always be caulked anyway or mastic even without a bead it would crack. Probably more as there is no room for movement between the plaster and the frame?

Yeah I've been made to do that on some sites but its a pain. If ur gna do that then ur best bet is to get the beads that wrap around the board and put them on the board before u dab them
