    What Should I Do?

courses are a good idea for those who only want to go and skim on site, but if you wanna learn evrything else you need to hook onto a good plasterer to learn from. We've had lads come to work at our place who have only been on site and when you ask them to float a wall, dash or render they look...

    hardwall/bonding

i prefer hardwall as the surface dries quicker allowing you to skim over it quicker, but thats just personal preference. Both can be used on near enough the same backgrounds.

how to solve problem of damp walls(which plaster)

Anti- sulphite, cement slurry coat, Renderlite base coat, Renderlite finish coat is the system we use at work, you could also throw in a sbr/k11 slurry coat in after the cement coat for extra protection.

    hardwall tips

I'd go for the practice run on the other wall, at least you will see how it reacts once you have it on, as well as how it reacts once you start skimming it.

    hardwall tips

Didn't see your bit about time frames, for me it's always better to skim hardwall the same day, due to the fact that hardwall surface dries quicker than bonding, browning etc allowing you to skim it. I'm not saying you can't do it day after it will just be a he'll of a lot harder due to it being...

    hardwall tips

@ chesblues glad I could offer some kind of method for you, and as you say your floating won't improve if you bottle it. So kudos goes to you for even contemplating tackling it. Believe me if you conquer a wall like this, there will be no stopping you!!

    hardwall tips

Where I work we don't often dot and dab, I'd say 90% of our Walls are floated. The only advice I can give is to fill out the areas where it is too deep first. I would more than likely do strips of hardwall every 2m that are floor to ceiling height that are levelled up. Then in fill using these...

    How do?

I was looking to see what all the fuss was about with these magic sponges, I learned the proper off an old timer who would rap me on the back of my legs with a podger if i talked about doing it a "new" way. The thread on here about them popped up on google, not convinced myself, but each to...

    ghetto blaster or dab

Gotta be DAB for me, a crackling radio just winds me up keep trying to get a good signal. Paid £40 for mine at Argos, £7 @ asda for transmitter for iPhone and I'm as happy as a pig in the mucky stuff.
