why is it when rendering externally with waterproofer in the mix over sbr and cement mixed 1-1 the rendering coat when dry is very powdery and has a lot of suction

Which coat is powdery your dubbing out, scratch or final coat? Could be a number of things like bad batch of sand incorrect ratios etc....

Not cured correctly. Dried out too quick, if you mist spray it with water it will retain it's strength but as above, many variables with sand and cement.

the scratch coat that went straight over the wet sbr and cement, ive experienced this many times and as if the waterproofer dont seem to work as there is a lot of suction for some reason but the scratch coat on other walls eg- concrete blocks, brick there is no problem

its due to the suction. if ud let the sbr slurry dry properly first it wouldnt have happened. its like going straight over a scratch coat with waterproofer in it, its not instantly waterproof, it takes a day or so to work

I always have the opposite with sbr hate it it ends up sliding around not wanting to stick to the f**k*r
