This one was a break from the norm, nearly 100 freehand quoins, with bands and ashlar markings ( scratchy head time.)
 
Looks good mate, very satisfying that kind of work innit, love the decorative render side my self , and yes he is The Grandwizard
don't think i've put this on for a while take a look, some lovely freehand quoins (not formal)

Nice work, would love to be able to do that. What kinda mix is used for that effect, is it a specialist stuff?

If you have an artistic streak theres no limits to what can be achieved Paul. Like the vid. I have seen fake timber in earlier posts. Thats something we have done extensively on listed and historic buildings. The usual scenario is where the cost of splicing in small pieces of oak in non load bearing stuations is too much. We have carried out some superb timber fakings using hydraulic lime haired renders,with dies and kean artitsic eye.

Like you say, very rewarding stuff.
 
nice work!! i was looking at stuff on ebay for cutting quoins. Not something we do at work but something i'd love to learn how to do.

Similar mate, but there seems to be a lot more scope with the gear we use, i don't want to go advertising the product, cos i would be treading on Danny's toe's , as he is in discussions with the company
here's another pic of render that we hand cut to look like brick and then tint to match the house brick, it's pretty dam close.

that looks tidy mate i wish i had of done a bit more rendering in the UK insted of just plastering nice work
 
can you do imitation pvc cladding ? I wouuld love the front of my house done in it cos the bengali's round here love it :RpS_laugh:

They also love using bathroom tiles to tile the outside. Classy :RpS_drool:
 
Crazy what you can do, that job in Cairo i was they sprayed a section and the artists whent in with small tools and carved it into Coral, great to watch but in all fairness a piece of piss, i can do it now you just need to see it done and its easy.

Igot loads of pics Mark but cant get my head round how to post them, life is just to busy one day i will get round to it.
