Dot and dab tips

Cheers think i need another man. It makes sense what ya said. Theres only me and my apprentice. He can cut but im cutting and dotting and leveling. But hes mixing aswell.

Here's a tip!
Take your time on your first board get that level and plum
Once that's on of the rooms fairly square (and I say that loosely)
Set the board at the opposite end of the wall same as the first

Then run a string line at the top from board to board
Then just bang the boards on inbetween

You can set all 4 corners getting everything squared up and fill the boards in the middle after

The time is taken setting the initial 2 boards the rest fly up.
The more you do it the quicker it gets
Might sound like a pain in the arse but in the end you'll get everything spot on and everything square and plum

Or

If you want to be a rough f**k*r
Just slap em on and give no consideration to anything

Oh and make sure your heads and reveals are all the same margin around the openings/windows
I can't stand turning up and seeing them uneven

It looks shite

Dont dry cut your boards as ur only taking them bk off, cant see y people dry cut a load of walls then tack them up as u taking them back off then putting them back on again..we mix 8 bags up then dot away cutting boards as we go along..

Not really a tip for speed, but have a clean bucket of water to hand and a sponge. Wipe any muck off the boards so they look nice and tidy. Looks rubbish when the boards are covered in adhesive.

No time for tht on site mate but if was a job of my own then probably would do this

Do what kitchy says, you are only lifting the boards once then.
If you f**k about with lasers or chalk lines, well best of luck......
8ft edge and crack on.
Could even cut reveals before you mix up, stick them on with the flat walls first mix so you can dab the window walls second mix.

And it's quicker on your own too. Unless you have a lad that you can trust to cut correctly.

I miss understood i ment i tack em up n chalk side of bord ive jst cut. Iwouldnt dream of using a chalk line or laser level

If ur hands are f**k*d aswell like mine for cutting sockets instead of banging board with ur hand to mark the imprint of back of a socket chalk around the face of the socket then it just needs a gentle tap and ull have the outline of a socket in chalk..my hands are f**k*d from thumping boards to get the imprint of a socket or alternatively wet around the socket with a wet brush

I mean with u not tacking ur boards mark every 120 width on ur wall with a off cut of plasterboard then u know where to dab and all ur packers are laid out ready for your boards
