uni-shite review

I did a review of unifinish mark 2 and the set I did went fine , 30 m2 ish scratched 2 bags layed in 1 no problems. Rubbed up lovely. Did I use it again..no. 1 simple reason; I've been plastering nearly 60 years ( I'm 82 now) and have plastered over 10 millions square metres using pva with no comebacks, no failure and no lack of quality issues.i never struggle with timings because of the aforementioned experience. To quote no one in particular "if it ain't broke, always wash your hands before you masterbate "
That works out at over 450 square meters per day, phhewww

You really take any criticism of unifinish personally don't you lol at the end of the day you like it but others don't, everyone's entitled to an opinion.

Sorry Vince but ur deluded fella..I controlled the suction 2day I put 2 coats of pva on the wall so y was it still s**t then? And skimmed the exact same size on gage 2 with multi with 2 coats of pva on wall before hand and was miles better..i.e putting it on,mixing, flattening and trowelling..please can u explain that?

Redoing all noggs they pulled out with my fingers oh and have had to redo boarding around sockets as well this is another checkershite :)lol:) attempt I trying to salvage, kitschy thinks he having a bad day, anyway stuff um! Back to topic

You seem to be insinuating that a plasterer from checkatrade has done that ? I am going to have to respectfully call you a bullshitter again, more made up rubbish.

That's because it's all on him when they finally pull the plug on it, all the nonsense he has told about it, has back fired, stores are not stocking it that says it all

Kitchen f**k me mate how do I know why you can't handle half a bag of unifinish? And more to the point how come you reskimming your own UNPAinted walls at home , how many years have they had no paint is the question?
:hola:

Lol. Take it you didn't like it [emoji26]
I remember mate it was good vid I like the time checks aswell lol, your scaled down version still on YouTube u certainly slapped it on ,first time all them Nela superflexees came on the market

I'd still like to give it a go on the jobs where I've got a painted artex ceiling to skim, but no where near me stocks it. The nearest place that does it is in Exeter 20 miles away

I used a bag on old painted plaster, had to lay a few bits in that were pulling before I topped with multi but was fine....twas not a ripple in sight by the end...its top bannana over artex

I like the latexy feel of it...or gluey how ever you want to call it

Best thing all round is if they teach all the new blood coming through college to just use unifinish then all this moaning wouldn't happen , 5-10 years from now all the new blood would just flick by a thread like this and think what f**k is this old t**t on about .

The futures bright the futures unifinish and pure but I not go there cuz most don't know what I'm on about.

Happy rolling, I off to the other thread now about crap pva
:numberone:

And ripples from flexing :p whatever that is

Why ?? Even if some wanted to use no one stocks it pmsl. Not even Travis's main depot in Northampton have it

Who was it that suggested they replace multi with it?
Was it flynnyman?
If they did that we wouldn't have these debates as we'd have no choice but to use it like we have to with multi!

Difficult gear.i hated it,but tried and tried to see if it worked.
Its a big learning curve ,i use it as base coat then top it with multi.
Cost not a issue passed on to customer.
It saves time when mastered.
The finish on its own i don't like.
I do know why most don't like it.
Took me at least 5 separate jobs to see it can work.most spreads will not give it time.i know why.

If you passed that extra cost onto customer could you not still pass on the extra cost but use multi for both coats and have the extra in your pocket?

Per bag, say you use 6 bags then that's £30 in my back pocket.
And less grief into the bargain:rayos:.....

Unless it's tiles.. or shineypaint(y)
Even if it's artex..it don't make no difference... loads of people have said." oh it's great over artex".. Yeh if it's been painted with silk paint,..if it's matt or not painted at all, unifinish really ain't your friend.
Only useful for low suction..but even then I probably wouldnt bother my arse with it:endesacuerdo:

Are silky surfaces really a problem? Been pvaing them for years and never had a call back from anything that uni wouldn't work on. Did actually want to try this but 1. No stock 2. 5 pound a bag extra makes it double the cost. If you used it everyday you would be looking into 000s a year. If they replaced multi @£10 a bag. Well that could just open up knauf market.

If they could produce it at a lower price point then yeah I would love to never use pva again. Trouble is like polymer modified tile adhesive (which is awesome) you will probably still end up priming it first.
