Hi
After steaming the painted lining paper from plaster boarded walls in a bedroom I have been left with two or three layers of what appears to be thin brown paper on top of the boards. I was advised by a plasterer that I should remove this and then apply a bonding agent before they can skim the walls. I am struggling to work out exactly which layers to try to remove. I would really appreciate any advice the forum might have on how far I need to go before applying a bonding like green grit or blue grit to prepare for plaster. Please see the pictures. The image with the largest area of very distressed looking grey patch is where a plasterer attempted to tear at the wall and I think to try and apply PVA to see how it responded.
kind regards
