Being going over some really high suction walls last week...3 coats of pva all pulled in really fast and had to move really fast once I started which I didnt like....i know its expensive but will gypprime sort these out as I might get some for these special occasions. What sort of time does it take to dry once applied? And is it ok at 5:1 or can it be diluted further?

Used it not long ago.
Didn't do much good and used it neat at one point

what do you think the best thing for really high suction is then? with these walls pva was gone so fast, gave it a diluted one to try and get it to soak in and then two more but it was really tough going

gyprime is more suited to backing coats that are open an scratched up
you might be better if reskim stabilex then blue grit let down a bit with Pva this works well on high suction reskims

What @madmonk said I only used it over some floating someone had done about a month before and gave couple coats and still pulled in a bit but not as fast, got with the gypbond best option but gotta let it cure before going over it does the trick though

Work hard-play harder

Just soak twice with water....and put a wall on at a time.
Youl cover same area throughout the day.

Use a 9:1 water:sbr mix and put it on the day before if poss. Strengthen the mix if doesn't seem to do anything. You want to control the suction though not kill it.

I use the knauf version and water it down and it is brill. As Gibbo says micro is good too and can be watered down for high suction. Betakontakt kills high suction too.

plaster suction control to G** porn and it only took 14 posts....must be a record
Get all the bummers in the picture to wank off in a bucket, dilute all the jizz about 4:1 and brush on to your wall. When it's gone nice and tacky that would be the perfect time to skim. Best suction control on the market.

Hard work when you've got a whole house to do though. You'd need the DIY sos squad to keep DIY'ing into gorilla tubs :rayos:

I find nice bit of 50/50 unibond to seal the wall, then blue/green/yellow/pink pregrit which ever one u want to use on top and that kills the suction a treat, but always 3 coat grit Much better finish then 2 coats

Best advice I can give you @Lodan is don't try fighting the suction but use it to your advantage.

Example being do small very quick gauges with both coats out of the same mix etc...can knock these gauges out in 1.5hr max...

Easy do 3 or 4 in a day in the same time as 2 big normal gauges and cover same if not more area!

Agree with that
