Morning all, firstly not a plasterer so forgive the ignorance (but have worked in the building trade for 20 years).

Ive built some blockwork planters at home and want to give rendering a go, but would like some advise please?

1) my planned mix will be 5, 1, 1 (p-sand, hyd lime, cem) - is waterproofer or anything else needed?

2) I’ve bought plastic 10mm corner beads and already cut/mitred them up - is 10mm going to be alright, thought I had 15mm in truth, but would rather not waste them.

cheers - thanks in advance!!

Well done
Neat
Bet you enjoyed yourself
No one advised you previously so should not go for the jugular and comment on its faults. It’s gonna fail one day due to water travelling up and through it
black Jack the inside or something

True that,

Going to be the worst bit in a few months

Even with the very best waterproofers and mix designs, the flat section on top will crack. And also black streaks down them soon too.
It looks nice when first done an yes that looks decent for a none spread but they are one massive design fault

Cheers mate, going to run a liner (1200 gauge DPM or similar, I have weep hole in the back also. Really enjoyed it

Nah looks to old fashion, it will be alright I have the same in the rear garden and two years on still going strong
Core10 slabs as coving , think it's called that , rusty metal , all the rage , like the contrast and goes well with plants
