Hi,
I was going to have a room skimmed today but the plasterer tapped a few places on old our plaster and found a couple of hollow bits. They seem to be limited to small areas of one wall (approx 300x600mm against one corner). I was advised to rip off all of the old plaster on two of the walls but would rather avoid this due to the mess. So the question is - can you just remove the small areas of loose old plaster and then go ahead with skimming? I get that some form of board or bonding would be needed in the areas removed.
