I wouldn't want a staircase like that in my own house (because it's impractical for moving furniture, it takes up quite a bit of floor space, and it looks a bit odd). However, I have major respect for the craftsmanship involved in building a spiral staircase (y)

Nice to see someone respecting fellow trades, too, rather than bashing them as though they're all wkrs. There's good and bad in all trades - I take each person as I find them.

nice one cyril,,its a banquet hall on a vineyard estate, no expense spared mush,,whilst i was working there Michael Douglas flew in on helicopter for a nose around,,took me a year solid plastering

nice one john,,ive seen it painted , your only seeing a 3rd of it,,it goes up to 1st floor and down to wine cellars,,,it was painted by a crew that came down from Londinium,,it looks like venetian, anyway thanks it looked terrific

Looks turd but that's just my opinion
im sorry you feel that way,,heres a picture of the top half in primer awaiting specialist painters to come and do several coats of wax on wax off voodoo paint, i was invited back for a party and see it finished (to embarrassed and got quite pissed to take photos) and it looked simply stunning
