Not sure what to do - skimming over dried bonding coat

Hello plaster community,

I'm a DIYer and would much appreciate any help on how to proceed with skimming ovr bonding coat which was applied months ago. The dried bonding coat doesn't have much key. It's now dried solid. Looking at other posts, I think i might get away with PVA the day before, than more PVA, then multifinish coats.

Somebody else suggested a coat of bond-it or blue grit but I read that bonding agents are for low suction backgrounds and my bonding coat I think is a high suction one.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

get a nail in a bit of wood and wipe it over the bonding giving a key.

then pva and your good to go
