why couldnt he be a specialist because hes 24? say he left school at 15 like i did, and all hes every done is lime work. thats 9/10 years doing the same thing day in day out. thats specialist to me.

don't judge people because they are young steve, just like you told me not to think all old 'uns are past it.

you can buy zinc sheeting from tomps for making the profile. Ive seen youngs lads who are really, really good plasterers in there early twenties.

hello all
I wish i was 25 still good age! 33 now and yes been plastering from 15 as you will see with me spelling sooner or later.
learnt the trade the old way no collage just on the job. plasterer through and through

tip for when your making zinc profle.once youve cut your profle out with tin snips, and after youve used a file to get it within a couple of mil.

firstly i find the best way to transfer your profile on paper to your zinc is to mix some shellac flakes with meths, set fire to it,once the meths is burned off and whilst sticky just stick your paper on to the zinc it sets like shite to the blanket.
use the side of a nail to wear down the edges this works a treat in getting rid of any tiny defects after youve had the file on it, in the template before you run it on a bench.it gets the edges of the template lovley and smooth, minus any tiny nicks, that would obously show on your mould.

you dont need to buy any profile make them your self, on squared paper and just transfer them onto your zinc profile and tack it to a shoe and a stock then away you go.
