Let's see what you lot are up to this week

Ok ok ok,

(Stands up)

My name's Bobski, and I'm a plasterer

(pauses for the applause)

This week I will be mostly plastering.

Lime plaster/render
Hack off - re lathe and plaster (exterior) 12m²

Top coat the Silicone thin coat 50m²

Wet dash 50m²

And other shite.

Done some lime work over the years but never really enjoyed it…… did a small job a few weeks ago using warmcote then limecote on an internal which are modern versions and was impressed. Anybody else used these?

I think most people are busy wading through adverts mate.

Work wise; partway through boarding a decent size self build. Next Tuesday start a 152sqm screed. Once upon a time that would have been an early finish on Wednesday, but not anymore. Three days on that.

152m2 screed.... is that mixed and laid on site?

Most people round here are using liquid screed now

skimming spare bedroom at home, been empty/carpets up/all ready to go for approx 7 years now, something always seems to come along to cause delay, but started now, finished ,cleaned up this week,

Yes mate, all put through our big diesel mixer, barrowed in and laid.
Quite a few builders are using traditional screeds again around here. I've seen some horrific liquid screeds. Did you know that the tolerance is greater for a liquid screed than a sand and cement screed? Makes you think doesn't it?

Wtf? Really? Surely liquid is perfect level ..

Couple of the ones I have seen are as wet as water...

A builder I know will only work off liquid screeds because he likes fitting kitchens as he knows the floor will be perfect straight away

Nope, I've seen some proper horrors.
The screed isn't supposed to be as wet as water, they should do a slump test before pouring.

I had one up town.

Liquid screed guys were in before me (I'm dry lining.)

Dot and dab finish with shadow gap at base - no skirting being fitted.

It was 72mm out from front of house to back

More than a brick.

Customer said to do mine level - the tiler will have to make it up with adhesive.
I took the highest point and lasered it out.

That tiler was swearing like f**k. I saw the bed towards the end.......
