Hi,
I am not a plasterer but have recently built a house. The second electrical fix has been done and most of the walls have been painted. As we were painting the walls we noticed a lot of cracks which we filled, sanded and painted over. But then we noticed bubbles appearing in the plaster. It is not everywhere but once you crack the bubble and chip away the plaster to a spot that is bonded properly, some of the areas are large enough. Not nearly as big as the whole wall or anything, but big enough that it would show up under paint if not dealt with properly. Our engineer feels that the issue is with the skim however it is hard to know for sure at the end of the day. We are trying to avoid having to re-skim the entire house as this would massively delay the build and would cost a lot to repaint, second fix etc. However, we also don't want to regret our decision on this down the line. Our builder is convinced that if we re-skim those sections, it will be noticeable under the paint. So he is using a type of filler to fill it. Would anyone have any advice on the best course of action here?
Many thanks in advance!
