Gable end wall re-render in Sutton, Surrey

Hi,

I have a damp solid brick gable end wall on an early 1900's semi that needs a re-render (ideally in lime).

Located in Sutton, Surrey with pics in a previous thread (more available):

I'm in NE Surrey looking for advice on options for re-rendering a gable end wall on a Victorian semi-detached bought recently. There are signs of penetrating damp on both ground floor and 1st floor, plus an old attempt at chemical DPC. The render is likely sand & cement. It seems to be well...

Had a few plasterers around who have advised sand and cement, which I'm wary of. Any expert advice appreciated, aiming to start the job early summer (May/June).
