Was thinking that as well but steel does look darker than normall ss ones.

Permashape are gold and red, both carbon and normal ss are red and black

Doesn't say permashape on it, just ordered marshalltown gold, thought they were all the same.

That's a pre worn not permashape Stuart they both come in gold stainless, lie the trowel on it's side and look down the blade does it look straight, warped or do both ends curl up slightly?

Been thinking off getting a carbon trowel but the rust thing is putting me off. Is there really that much difference between a ss and a carbon? I mostly do reskims and very little site work. Cheers

if you used it every day it wouldn't rust so there's no problem
