Sad a plasterer is no longer considered a renderer if you can render you can render the mix doesn't really change with sand and cement. Fair bough there are people more geared up for it who do it on regular but it is plasterers job at the end of the day, if you meet q plasterer who can't do it he is a skimmer not a plasterer.

U know wat I mean flynny id always think its best to go with sum1 who does it day in and out as in this case he's got with a spread based on reviews and all them reviews were prob for internal plastering..i dnt think its same as a skimmer,skimmers r lads who cant even board all there do is follow behind skimming

I've been giving all my rendering away I can't be arsed with it the weather can really f**k you up.

You didn't really ask him, you made out he didn't have a scaffold which I'm sure he didn't mention, you also blamed the window cleaner when the guy had said he was using the ladders, so wake up and stop making up stuff, no offence intended. You must be going mad why the f**k does it matter who I give it to lol

I asked you a simple question as to why you asked why a scaffold wasn't used? and you came back with a bitchy answer, just thought there was a post I missed and I certainly ain't turning into you.

A up..i have just read the op first post again,I thought he said he used ladders to do it,I'll always admit if I'm wrong which I was in that part,still would like to know how much he charged though it is important in these online assessment of work tbf imo because then we have both sides of the story.
Still seems crazy you not rendering though and kitchy but like you say it's none of my business,

I do render but lately I have been giving it away coz I'm far to busy and rendering and the weather usually make me even more busier. I don't give any plastering away coz most around here are shut but this renderer is good so that's the only reason.

That's b*ll***s when my old man tought me it was a plasteres job to float& set sand and cement... board ceilings and walls.. and rendering ...and screeding . I'm a renderer a plasterer a tacking and a borader . Not a Screeder tho ha ha

Tbh I think ur missing the point in wat I'm trying to say..i can do all the above apart from screeding..in my opinion if I was Joe public id get a proper rendering outfit that did it day in and out

Yep I am with you on this one... I would not phone a plasterer up to screed a floor... I would find a company that just screeds floors :D
 
Tbh most people would ask a multitrader for all the plastering,rendering,screeding work nowadays,that is the sad fact of the world of plasterers nowadays,would I pass the work on? Not now I got machine
 
When I done my apprentiship I done all of it and we as a firm done everything I think once the machines and mono k rend ect came more popular you had the people that stayed on that side and the ones who got on with them in a gang stayed with rendering and can't do internals,general public will look on line or yellow pages and see a plasterer advertising plastering services and have all skills listed weather he can do them or not or he subs it out who knows but someone will think I want my house rendered and they won't even give it a second thought just to get a renderer will they they see it as a whole package,I won't use a multi trade myself I prefer set trades as In my experience u get a better job things like a real good plumber wiping the pipes after soldering some don't but ones who do win my vote on just a small thing like that,

I think people r missing the point on wat saying..have I said a plasterer cant render? Thought I was abit thick till I come on here it makes me feel bright

I'm more saying the general public wouldn't really know the difference between only a renderer and a plasterer really some can't even tell difference between hardwall and multi finish and they just see programmes where everything is done at once and yes if I was having my house done now I would probably pick a man with a machine and one who would come highly recommended and I would ask people I know it's easier for me because I'm in the game isn't it

you would think if the homeowner was spending a substantial amount of money they would do some research :D
