Wickes bonding agent! And ceiling still peeled!

Just wondering if any of you guys have experienced this.

Nice silky smooth ceiling in bathroom. Decided to use wba instead of bluegrit.
Gave it a scrap before putting grit on. Left for about 5 hours, nice a dry!

Whilst troweling up second coat a big patch started to bubble! Oh cr*p.

Cut the section out and looked as though it hadn't been misted coated as the paint came clean off the old plaster!

As it was in a bathroom I wonder if this section was directly under the shower as rest of the room was fine?!

Yes clean plaster underneath.
Was skim, agent , paint
The bonding agent didn't fail, the paint did it peeled from plaster

Yup
Was pretty annoying as when scrap the paint and crap off it it felt sound. Add moisture and weight I guess it just help peeled the old paint from plaster.

Probably only two boards but paint looked and felt sound. Think the problem was a mist coat wasn't used previously.

Was easily fixed and thankful it wasn't a large ceiling.

I know you said plaster came off,,, most grits recommend leave for 24hrs before plastering.

They do say 24 hr generally but pretty sure the wba is far less...
Only used it once years ago...wasnt impressed

How much is the wickes stuff ?

Its around £19.99 for 3kg i think, its Betakontakt. I pay around £52 for the large tub. 20kg

I had to use some from Sika sold by screwfix, that is defo the worst for applying, grit suze and smell etc but its designed for render to be fair.
