I use a nela for tight coat the following day I find it gets it flat

I was tempted but been told it be too stiff for 2nd coat. U lay the 1st coat wit it too?

No mate I lay on me first coat with a normal trowel then put a toothed comb through it then when the mesh is put in I spat it smooth.
I've tried to do it all in the same day but I get better results with a tight coat the next day. And that's advice I've got from lads on here

Do you mean the work will look s..t with a nela?

I just find I get a better finish with a pissy coat the next day.
I've done it in one day aswell.
Each to there own I suppose
