Why do you polish , I have the idea that it's a painters nightmare , always thought if a spread needs to chuck water on skim it's because he's put too much on , similarly a flexible trowel , for smoothing wavey walls
It seem to be all the rage and I plan on doing some site work so I may invest in one to try and stretch my metera

When I say polish I’m just cross trowling with the plastic, I don’t put any water on the wall. And the flex is just so much easier on my shoulder and elbow that the MT. it’s already flat enough after a speed skim and a spats been over it. The flex does nothing if you have wavy walls but a good plasterer shouldn’t be getting wavy walls really.

I have no interest in polishing walls when they should be matte. Obviously unavoidable sometimes, but never out of choice.
I agree its pointless but everyone asks for the ‘mirror’ finish or they heard so and so makes the walls like glass
