can someone please kindly view the image and tell me if the rendering job looks ok ? I hired a company to do this job and they had a very high rating (10/10) on check atrade, and I am not happy with the rendered wall because it looks full of lump and not smooth . I’m not expecting plastering smooth and i know the texture is going to be different ( the renderer said he used sponge technique) . When I said I think it looks really bad : The owner said that s how k rendering looks . It is not smooth ! It looks bumpy and wavy and has blisters all over the places which he claimed it ain’t . Also , the color is supposed to be white but it is coming up patches of brown and he said he can give it a good rub down and smooth and make it white again !This looks like a diy job to me , not a professional level . And to be honest , I don’t want this renderer back ! Let me know if I’m over thinking . I have never crossed a house with wall rendering this bad unless it s a very old / run down house . Thank you very much for your opinion

Thank you very much for your response . I was really hoping I was wrong because this builder seemed really nice as a person and so is the renderer who said he s been rendering for 15 years !!! I wonder if it was an exaggeration . Do you know much about k rendering ? Is it supposed to be this bad ? Bc I was told by this builder this is how k rendering silicone will look !

It was an exaggeration, he'd been attempting rendering for 15 minutes, 15 minutes into your job.

Thank you for sharing the photo . This truly looks amazing . Did you use a float to make it look so smooth ? Because my builder used a sponge he said because my wall is curved , it is not straight but this one is curved too . It loooks so nice . Where are you based ?? This builder is coming back to do a second coat , I hope it d be much better but to be honest I don’t have much hope after the first coat

That’s not my work. Just showing even on a curve k rend can look good. It is scraped back with an “I” bar to get it flat

Firstly - 15 years - no chance, not a f**k**g chance. It'd still be better than that if he spent 15 years watching someone.

It's IS possible to be nice AND s**t.

Your man has NEVER used that product.

A spread could do better at 3 in the morning with no lights.

f**k**g atrocious.

Spot on, I've got/had plenty of friends over the years that I wouldn't dream of recommending to anyone.

Thank you so much for all of your input . I have gotten quotes from others to fix this isssue :1. Putting a thin layer of silicone to fix this then do another render coat or 2. Break this rendering and possibly might break the brick underneath :( which I don’t want to take that risk because the previous Owner s building work was very sturdy and I don’t want to risk it with some one new who might or might not do a better job with the foundation, but would number 1 long lasting ? My current builder , the renderer offered to go back to fix his job but I’m really worried that if the first coat look like this, will the second coat much better ?! Thank you so much for your advise

That there is what you call a country finish and you usually have to pay extra for it.
