I quote to over Board and skim 3 bedroom ceilngs about 6 months ago . I put a good days money in for me and the lad . I get a message of customer saying they can’t move all furniture out the rooms , so they say can I plaster 2 ceilngs and do the other 1 another time . Thing is 2 ceilngs will be a steady day and a good half day to come back and do the other one. So do you divide up the cost of 3 and charge for 2 but have a bad day when I come back for the last one ? Or tell them it’s 2 full days for the arsing about and return visit ?

I definitely wouldn't be going back for a second day on the same price. Tell them that if they only have the two done it's the same price as doing the three and the third one on its own would cost the same again.
Absolutely no such thing as half a day in this trade IMO.

Like lurpy said..be reasonable..end of day it all bowls down to what you've actually got in the job money wise and wether it's worth it or not

it’s domestic, shouldn’t be doing day rate for a start. 3 domestic lids on a day rate f**k that.

Just divide it by 3 if they’re reasonable. So do the £600 for the 2 on one day. £300 for the last one on a morning on way to other job or something

No it was a price for all 3 which I allowed a good day to do it . If they said from day 1 that they wanted 2 doing and 1 later I would of quoted accordingly

I’m struggling a bit with this as I’ve had the nicest customers who are almost embarrassed when can’t clear the whole room. The fact you’re doing 3 in a day might have made it difficult for them to empty all 3 rooms?

as said, don’t know you or the customer or the ins and outs. Personally if they’re being nice, I’d just compensate, probably why I get so much repeat work and recommendations etc. Think of the long term gains

Way too cheap, probably been trying to find a cheaper quote this last 6 months and cudnt..
It’s cheap mate but when you think
About £200 for materials and £450 labour for me and lad Is good money . I had over 20 years on site and been doing domestic about 3 years . Still can’t get it out my head what they would be worth on site. Probably why I’m never out of work . And yes still sheet down and clean up etc.

If they have 4 bedrooms then I don’t think your being unreasonable asking for 3 to be clear mate.
