I've got 100m2 or OCR to do, cullamix on top. Is there a bead I can use to split it in 2 manageable panels...which I can then Tyrolean over the beads so they can't be seen.

I was thinking a stop bead...but will the Tyrolean take to the bead.

Thanks

I didn't think it was good practice to have a join, should I put glass fibre mesh on the joint?

You should be able to lose any daywork joints with the tyro. You need to be neat tho. A bead joint will result in a crack. If it's a 100m2 flat one piece panel you'll need an expansion joint, best hid behind a soil stack, gutter etc

are you gonna prep the whole 100 mts first?
If so do ur first pass 600 mm over the 2nd section you are doing then spray ur 2nd pass 300 mm over the 2 nd section and the 3 rd pass where you would like to finish for the day. Then just carry on next day with ur first pass 2 nd pass and final. You wont see any joints because ur only spraying the texture on

Hi Ian, I was going to do it on one coat over Rend Aid.

I don't know why your worried about a join cos you paint your cullamix jobs anyway so the paint will hide any join

Surely you want expansion beads any way, change of height, weight and direction all have an influence on where, how and why you would use an expansion bead, even if the brick or blockwork has mortar bed reinforcement this panel is still to big I'd say.

What colour tyrolean is it? I would be using an expansion bead on a panel this big but I would try and get a bead near to the tyro colour.

I thought so to but then i saw this on the Weber website...

In our experience, cracking of the substrate can be considerably minimised if the bed joint
reinforcement is used specifically around openings. From the rendering contractor’s
perspective, movement joints in the substrate must always be reflected through the render
coat. There is no benefit in having movement joints in the render alone, other than to form
a day work joint.

I highly doubt there will be any movement joints in the brickwork as the property is old.

this info contradicts webers 'best practise guide' available for free if you call their tech.not saying your lying,it just seems strange that weber have two contradicting texts.

Yea I thought it weird to...I'll call them tmw.

I've see some spreads round here use stop beads to split up large panels...anyone see a problem with this? You can hardly notice them if they are the same colour as the render
