Debating using these on my house as I want my music on at a reasonable volume without the neighbours complaining

If i dog and dab my kitchen with them will it make much of a difference or am I just pissing in the wind with them?

Sound waves travel through air. If your boards managed to block the sound then the slightest gap would allow sound through.

When jointing boards in studios some people use a sealant which always stops flexible. They would also use insulation which absorbs the sound.

Sound will also travel through some materials. So if your boards are connected to the wall then sound could travel because they are fixed to the wall.

If acoustic insulation was put on your wall then a studded wall. There would be a break between your noisy house and the joining wall of you and your neighbors. This way you may lose up to 6"/150mm of room space.

Pretend you are quite deaf and apologise for the volume

Doubt dabbing dogs will work.....

Make sure all the edges 3-5mm gap Inc floor and stick sound block on wall with foam. Gun around edge with caulk as you don't want hard plaster filling gap.. You need caulk to get it air tight Inc joins.. Tape and plaster skim.... Vibration won't travel through foam and can't get through caulk so will stop noise.. Won't block as well as resilient bars ect but probably enough for you and not to pricy or to much hassle.. So.. Foam to stick and caulk around all the edges. Acoustic mastic will be better but I'm thinking of cost
