Hi,looking for some advice. We have had some roughcasting done today on our house.I was under the impression a scratch coat was required before the top coat and stones. The company we have used has just slapped a top coat on and threw the stones on.The top coat has went on finished brick. Is this an ok method or will we have problems with it in the future? Any advice welcome, thanks

They should've put a scratch coat on first considering there adding weight with roughcasting to the topcoat, should be ok but expect cracks at some point in your render over time
