my mate had a plaster round to do his ceiling last week , its in a right mess and i said i would do it. just wondering whats the best ratio of pva for going over a dusty ceiling thats only a week old, also whats the best way to measure ratios more acuratly. the ceiling is 18 ft x 12 and was going to use 5 litre tub of pva

Just mix 3pva to 1 water and give it two coats of pva and skim while tacky

Daz this is the type of question you were asking over a year ago, have things not moved on? I never measure my ratios, it's right when it's right, simple as that.

Unpainted plaster needs more than 2 PVA's normally.

Tell your mate to give it a coat of paint, any old crap that he has in the shed. (not vinyl silk or gloss though)

Then 2 PVAs would give you enough time.
