rendering blocked doorway

Hi Guys
Went to see a rendering job today, just to patch up a blocked doorway.The only problem i could see was that the blockwork was only about 5mm off the existing wall. Is this to thin to render onto ??

just use a pre blended bagged polymer render such as OCR or krends UF base and hit it with one coat most say the nominal thickness from 6mm or 8mm upwards

wont the joints show through on the blocks ?

no gaurantee but when fully dry should be ok. he dont really have any other choice - maybe seal the wall first with paint on stabalizer such as the world famous microgobetis
