If you are a self employed plasterer with 4+ years experience and want £1,000,000 public liability cover, you can expect to pay between £54 and £72 a year with us depending on a few other factors.
We have an article about subcontractors on our website that might help. Basically if you provide your own tools/materials and work under your own direction, you are a bona-fide subcontractor and should still have your own insurance. If you are instead employed for labour purposes and tools/materials are not yours then you won't need your own insurance but your employer should provide public and employers liability for you.Now I've gone full time on site do I need pli still

Just have to suck off a hobo every now and then. What u gotta do to get the million?
didn't get any response.I'm looking at getting insured as a sole proprietor electrical contractor, and insurance shopping is turning into a pain in the arse.
All of the responses I'm getting from insurers places exclusions on nearly all of the work I'm wanting to target.
Aside from being a licensed electrician, I'm also a licensed engineer. I want to be able to go after field engineering/commissioning work.
Troubleshooting and startup of large, industrial machinery, breakers, switchgear, generators, transfer switches, transformers, indoor and outdoor. Low voltage (120-480) and high voltage (480 to transmission level).
I also want the ability to do small stuff when the mood strikes. Swap out receptacles in a house, add a circuit, replace a panel, etc.
I didn't realize finding insurance to cover a broad range of electrical work was such a tall order. It isn't necessarily price. I keep getting "deer in the headlights" looks when I tell insurers what I'm looking to do.
For those of you who do a broad range of things, what insurance carrier(s) are you using? I've got to be looking in all the wrong places for insurance.
