Pressure washer

Hi guys looking at buying a petrol pressure washer for blasting building before rendering any recommendations cheers

Don't bother @Leeroy. There are electric ones about now with nearly the same power as petrol without all the engine hassle and a lot cheaper. Powerful enough to remove growth from walls when they've been treated with a fungicidal wash etc.

Yeah I've alway used electric mate, and never an problem but was thinking it would be easier with a petrol from deck with a long hose mate

I went the other way around and to electric from petrol. i see what you mean though. Petrol will pump 20-30 metres no problem.
Honda engine with a Hawk or Interpump pump and a good 2:1 gearing between the pump and engine and you won't go far wrong.

I never had much luck with electrics. A graffiti remover told me about pressure washers. People buy with impressive psi. You acheive that by narrowing the jet. But what is as important as psi is water flow rate.

Two machines side by side both 2000 psi. But one has double the flow rate. Their is a massive difference. It is the water doing the cleaning. Twice the water double the speed and a wider wand.

I have one from Machine Mart. Honda 13hp. 3000 psi £1k.

I used to have one that pumped 15L a minutes John. As good as it was everywhere turned into a swamp there was so much water being pumped. You need a butt too because most taps won't keep up with 15l/m

I have a electric one but I reckon petrol will be better.its dragging the extension leads around that is a pain.
If you get one let us know how it is
