Any spreads out there own,use and can recommend (or not) one of these hawks? Seen them around,been um-ming and r-ring to get one as my magnesium boards' seen better days. Cheers all! Carl.

Made a 9inch'ish one out of ply with a wood pistol grip shape years ago, still got it & use it, works fine for small mortar/render jobs where a bigger one would get in the way.

Only ever used 3/8 exterior ply back in the day, moulded plastic last 30 years,
Any aluminium or metal handboard would drive me bonkers with the sound they make and I'm convinced they don't do a trowel any favours,
Sound like a noddy tool to these ears

Aluminium were free with a 2 week course Haha, could tell um a lile off with their green tool bag and a bandage on their thumb
