Mechanical fixing plasterboard

I'm struggling on space so want to mechanically fix foilbscked plasterboard directly to the wall (9inch solid brick) is this possible?
 
Making a mess is short term. Do the job right and it'll last forever.
 
Just ditch the foiled back board, use dryfix foam on ordinary plasterboard, put a few mushrooms through and skim it, you'll lose 20mm if you lucky
 
Foilbscked to stop any moisture passing through - to face mess for cost of going back to brick and S&C the walls

Just wondered if it was possible
Your bodging it and if it's a customer you will get a call in the future, plenty of posts do a search.
