got a job comming up soon, and its a grade 2 listed building.thay want all the exesting laths kept up on the ceilings and traditional lime with hair re plastered back up,any tips on how to go about it?do i have to wet the dry laths down? how many coats? how to apply? thanks fbs

s**t job that's all.
BUT..................you'll probably need to check out what you can use to fix 'em back up after the builder's wrecked them. Thinking about that have you got a supply of replacement laths sorted?

contact a lime centre, we have one in winchester in hampshire, process, wet the laths, use course stuff for first coat, then a further coat with sand lime, then lime plaster, process is very long, and a very s**t job, be prepared to get dirty and make a mess

yup and wear a mask and gloves and glasses

repair the laths first then wet down and throw a scratch on. each mill you put on will take a day to set so allow some time between coats. up to a week. price it well. im in london area if you want a hand pricing and doing. done a few. piece of piss for a decent spread. just heavier work with a bit more effort. pm if you get stuck.
